NID DAT

Overview

The National Institute of Design Entrance Exam (NID DAT) is a prestigious entrance examination conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) for admission to its Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Master of Design (M.Des.) programs. NID offers B.Des. and M.Des. programs in various disciplines such as Industrial Design, Communication Design, Textile Design, Animation Film Design, Exhibition Design, etc. The NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) typically consists of two stages: DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. DAT Prelims assesses candidates’ design aptitude through objective and subjective questions related to drawing skills, creativity, visual perception, design principles, etc. Shortlisted candidates from DAT Prelims are invited to appear for DAT Mains, which includes studio tests, interviews, and portfolio review.

UCEED

Overview

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programs offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. UCEED is conducted for admission to the B.Des. programs offered by participating IITs and IIITDM Jabalpur. These programs cover various design disciplines such as Industrial Design, Communication Design, Animation Design, Interaction Design, etc. UCEED consists of two parts: Part-A and Part-B. Part-A is a computer-based test (CBT) that assesses candidates’ aptitude for design, including visual perception, creativity, logical reasoning, etc. Part-B evaluates candidates’ drawing skills through questions that require sketching, rendering, and visualization.

AIEED, All India Entrance Examination for Design. This exam’s main focus is on evaluating the candidate’s skills and knowledge of engineering. This exam was for aspirants who wanted to get into NIT’s.

NIFT

Overview

NIFT, National Institute if fashion technology entrance exam. It is conducted at a national level to shortlist candidates for admission in design programs namely – B.Des, BFTech, Masters of Design.Over the years NIFT has also been working as a knowledge service provider to the union and state government in the area of design development and positioning of handlooms and handicrafts.

Why NIFT ?

NIFT conducts NIFT exam entrance exam to shortlist aspirants for admission to its design programs such as Bachelor of design, BFTech, MDes, MFM etc.

Eligibillity

1- Candidates must have passed 10+2 exam from any recognized central/state board.
2- Candidates who have passed 3-4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or state board are eligible
3- Candidates who have diploma in UG design from NIFT/NID are eligible.
