National Talent Search Exam (NTSE)

National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) is the most valuable and highly prestigious exam conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in India. The council initiated this exam to recognize the real talents of India and to nurture them for academic excellence. It has two levels: Level 1 of exam is conducted by the State/UT education departments while Level 2 is conducted by NCERT.

The NTSE exam covers Mental Ability Test (MAT), Language Test (English or Hindi), and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) covering subjects like Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge in multiple-choice questions (MCQs) format. The NTSE scholarship is provided by the Government of India and is awarded to selected students up to the Ph.D. level. The scholarship amount and duration vary for different stages of education.

Preparation & Eligibility: Indian students studying in Class 10 in recognized schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, are eligible to appear for the NTSE exam. To get through to the NTSE exam, students should focus on enhancing their logical and analytical reasoning skills, improving their knowledge in various subjects, and solving previous years’ question papers.
